Martin, Winnie, and Libby - The D'Andrea Pack

The D'Andrea family grew by leaps and bounds on February 23, 2005 when Martin Edgar was born. We grew again on June 20, 2007 with the arrival of Winston Raphael. And now we've got a softer side with the introduction of Elizabeth Wren on April 26, 2009. Enjoy our adventures!

Hello From a Black Hole

Hello everyone! It's been a while since we posted anything and that's because of several things. The holidays were a dizzying blitz of family and joy and travel and they really set our blogging back. The bigger problem, however, has been the fact that our computer is the victim of a pretty nasty virus that we can't seem to get rid of. Because of the virus, we've been living in a technological black hole and it stinks. I'm wary of loading pictures onto the computer right now because it's really limping along and it would take 3 years to get a proper post together. We have had some incredible milestones over the past 3 weeks, so I'll put a list of them here with the promise of pictures soon once the old Compoots is back in business.
  • Christmas is Baton Rouge!
  • Christmas II and New Year's in Sugar Land (no Tom DeLay sightings, thank goodness)!
  • Martin now crawls! Take that, all you naysayers who said he'd never crawl. (Actually, I think I was the only one.) Thanks to Grandpa and Aunt Lissa for really encouraging Martin to crawl. Your workouts were just what he needed to get moving.
  • Martin cruises much more quickly. It's no longer like watching paint dry to watch him cruise. Now it's more like watching paint be applied.
  • Martin ordered his first Kid's Menu item - a chicken and bean soft taco - at Magnolia Cafe!
  • Martin got his first haircut! His bangs had really started getting in his eyes, so we hacked them off using the trimmer on Dad's electric razor. I think I went a bit overboard, and now he looks a lot like Hayley Mills in The Parent Trap.
  • Martin got his first cold. He's still mid-cold right now and not very happy about it. Last night his fever was 103 at 3am. I thought he was going to melt right out of his crib, poor boy. I feel so bad for him because he's clearly not comfortable.
  • The Texas Longhorns are national champions! Hook them, hook them, hook them!

That just about brings you up to date on all Martin's exciting happenings. Watch out for our next post, because this weekend we're going to Corpus Christi for the commissioning of cousin Allen's amphibious ship, the USS San Antonio. Martin is hoping Cher will be there, filming another video. Peace out, Martin Nation!
