Martin, Winnie, and Libby - The D'Andrea Pack

The D'Andrea family grew by leaps and bounds on February 23, 2005 when Martin Edgar was born. We grew again on June 20, 2007 with the arrival of Winston Raphael. And now we've got a softer side with the introduction of Elizabeth Wren on April 26, 2009. Enjoy our adventures!

Fatty Update

Sorry it's been a while since our last post, but Martin insisted on relishing the glory of cruising for at least a week before I put anything new on top of that post. He continues to cruise, but he makes very slow progress. Watching him cruise is sort of like watching Bob Ross paint - if you keep your eye on him you don't really see any progress. But if you look away and then look back a minute or two later, he's usually gotten a foot or two. Martin has also learned how to roll over, which puts him developmentally with all the other 4 month olds out there. Unfortunately, he's almost 10 months old. The cool thing is that he's old enough to score finger food for the 4 month olds he's hanging out with.

So, what has Martin been up to the past for days? Wouldn't you like to know...

Last Saturday Martin donned his usual Longhorns outfit and prepared to root Texas on to a Big 12 championship. Since Texas was playing Colorado, Martin thought it would be appropriate to put on some war paint and go Buffalo hunting. Here he is looking his most ferocious, courtesy of some delicious beets and an unattentive Mom.
I eat babies and buffaloes for lunch. Oh, and beets too.

Throughout the month, Martin has been counting down the days till Christmas on his Advent calendar. Mom does the opening, then Martin bashes the new day's little flap. He's very excited about Christmas and takes his role as Official Counter Downer to Christmas very seriously. Here he is contemplating the latest wise adage from holiday Winnie the Poo.
Just 15 days to go. I better stop being so naughty...

Next, it was on to another Christmas preparation - the selection of the Christmas tree. Saturday morning we all packed up and headed to - where else - HEB to get a nice tree. Funny, we had the tree lot all to ourselves at 8:00 on Saturday morning! Anyway, Martin selected the perfect tree and nearly fainted when he saw the fabulous price. Strap that baby to the top of the car, Dad. She's a keeper!
Hmm... this one looks pretty fresh.

Holy cow, HEB rocks! What a bar-goooon!

Yesterday, Martin's friend Gabby and her parents arrived from Boston to stay with us for a week. Gabby is an avid crawler and cruiser, so we're hoping Martin may pick up a few new tricks from his Northern friend. Today the whole gang got together at Nutty Brown Cafe for brunch under the live oaks. Everybody had a great time and we took some pictures of all the babes.
Zach's on the move while Gabby and Martin frantically satisfy their oral fixations.

Incredible! The stars align and we get a picture of all 4 babies! L to R: Luke (3 1/2 months), Gabby (10 1/2 months), unhappy Martin (9 1/2 months), and Zach (12 months)

The moms, who made this all possible.

And the Dads, who we thank for meeting back at UT over 10 years ago.

Can we PLEASE paint happy faces on the dads bellies next time?!?!?!

And nice work with the slaughter, Martin. Now we know it was a small, rolling, tazmanian-devil-howling hunter that almost tomahawked the buffalo into extinction.

Another fine and funny posting. It must be wild when all those crazy adults and sweet babies get together. Or is it sweet adults and crazy babies? Whatever!
