Martin has graduated to solid food! I use the term solid very loosely, as what he eats is mostly a puree of different mushy fruits, vegetables, and grains, but they're considered solid nonetheless. So far, his diet consists of rice, barley, oats, avocados, peaches, and new today, sweet potatoes. As you can see, he's still working on his eating skillz, but he seems to enjoy what I've given him. We're lucky it's still nice and hot here in Texas so he can eat nearly nekkid. It makes cleanup time much easier. Martin's first solid meal was well-documented, of course. Click
here for photos of that great event.

We've been using Ruth Yaron's book,
Super Baby Food, to make some of Martin's food. In the book, Ms. Yaron suggests all kinds of moneysaving tips, some of which lead me to believe that Ms. Yaron is, how you say, cheap? One of her suggestions is to make homemade hairspray out of water mixed with Elmer's Glue. Martin says screw that - barley cereal works just fine!
