Tummy-licious

Today was another rainy day in Austin, and Martin spent some of it relaxing and working out on his belly. Jane Fonda would have been proud to see him wiggling and squirming around on his little exercise blanket. Of course, with any new activity comes a photo shoot, and tummy time was no exception. Martin is growing very nicely, and I think his cheeks are starting to chunk up just a little bit. It's very cute. Some general observations on Martin at 11 days old:

• He inherited Mom's tongue. Both Martin and Mom have very pointy tongues, but Dad's tongue just won't make a point no matter how hard he tries.
• He inherited Dad's little toes, which grow sideways. Mom's grow straight.
• His umbilical cord hasn't fallen off yet, but it's getting looser.
• Martin has big, expressive eyes that are really starting to focus on things.
• He loves to stretch by doing back bends as far as he can reach. His little spine seems to curve back at an uncomfortable angle, but he seems happy as can be in that position.

Martin keeps amazing all of us with his adorable ways. He's the best baby ever.
